Hi, I’m Rafael Joos, a copywriter and creative based in New York City.

Originally from Switzerland, I’ve worked my way through a variety of roles and companies, from video production at Sagamedia to translation for On Shoes, before finding my voice in advertising.

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to contribute to campaigns at agencies like AREA 23, TBWA\Chiat\Day NY, Alma Miami, and Vice Germany, where I’ve learned a lot from incredibly talented teams. Along the way, I’ve been lucky to receive a few awards and recognitions, but what drives me most is the craft — finding the right words, the right tone, and telling stories that resonate.

I come from a background in business and strategy (thanks to my time at HEC Lausanne), and later trained in creative thinking and copywriting at Miami Ad School Europe. I speak four languages, which helps me see things from different angles — something I try to bring into every brief.

Outside of work, I’m into photography, gaming, writing, and playing the violin (sometimes badly, always passionately).

Feel free to check out my work or just say hi.

Working with him is a never-ending learning experience. He questions everything with a contagious curiosity that makes us all want to learn more.
— Anonymous Hero Award Nomination
He is a consistently dependable writer who can pick up any project and knock it out of the park in both quality and efficiency.
— Anonymous Hero Award Nomination
His curiosity is something else, and I enjoy the way he can deconstruct an idea, finding its cracks and malfunctions to improve on even when it initially feels ready.
